Miswak tree- Salvadora Persica
Miswak tree has many different names across different cultures. In Latin it's called Salvadora Persica, in Arabian it's called Arak, El-Arak, Siwak, Miswak, in hebrew it's called Peelu and so on... But all these names are for just one very important tree. Miswak tree. Miswak tree is a small tree or even a shrub which lives along river banks, on seasonal floodbanks or even along the coast. It's valuable to the local people because it contains many active compounds which promote good health. But miswak can only be made out of Salvadora Persica's branch or root, but those made out of root are better, because they taste better, they keep their moisture better and they are healthier then branch ones. Also it's better known that miswak is made out of El-Arak's root. The flowers are small and inconspicuous, but fruits can be eaten or even drinks can be made out of them. Each fruit contains single seed, which is a very valuable oil source. But miswak doesn't have to be made out of El-Arak tree. Prophet Mohammad was seen using miswak made out of pomegranate tree, Bosiljkov tree, chervil, aloe tree which from the group has the best taste and teeth cleaning properties. Miswak can be made out of wallnut or even olive tree but miswaks made out of these trees can taste bitter. And also miswaks made out of every other tree except El-Arak is questioned of being as healthy and as good at teeth cleaning as ones made out of Arak. So we deeply recommend using ones made out of Salvadora Persica. And if you ever get to see Arak tree then don't be confused because it can be a very large tree with very strong and thick trunk, but it can also be a very "messy" shrub with very thin branches which drag themselves on the floor. Other thing we spotted is that Arak tree grows near water, for example near a river or even on a coast, where as Arak shrub grows in dry lands such as deserts of Middle East and
